E.L. Flowers was established in 1945 by Edward Flowers. The Company quickly established itself as a leading sales representative in New England for Medium and High Voltage Electrical Equipment Manufacturers and became known for both customer and manufacturer’s loyalty.
Edward Flowers ran the business for 19 years. When he passed away, his son Lou Flowers became the owner. Upon his retirement 31 years later, his longtime employee Rick Gray and longtime industry associate Jim Gorman purchased the company. They brought a fresh outlook and interest in exploring new avenues without sacrificing the loyalty and individual attention which have been the cornerstone behind the company’s success and reputation. Seven years later, Jim passed away leaving Rick the sole owner. In 2008, Rick retired and sold the company to his long-term employee Jerry Houghton. In 2017, Jerry Houghton sold the company to his longtime employee, Scott Shepard. Jerry remains with E.L. Flowers through at least 2019.
